Humane Society of BayCounty Announces
The 5th Annual
Barkin' on the Bay 2009
On Saturday October 17, 2009, the Humane Society of Bay County will host its 5th Annual Barkin' on the Bay (BOTB) Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the waterfront at the beautiful Bay Point Marina. “BOTB” is one of the Humane Society's largest fundraising events offering a fun filled day for BayCounty’s pet loving community. There will be a selection of children’s activities, retail vendors, entertainment, food and beverages, great prizes and much, much more. Wayne Gentry of WMBB will be the Master of Ceremonies this year and thanks to Eric Buskell of Pineapple Willy’s the featured musical entertainment will be provided by Blues Artist Johnny Rawls.
Activities will kick-off with the always popular dock -diving contest followed by Frisbee®-catching, best pet-tricks and pet-owner look-alike competitions. There will be a special Pet Halloween Costume contest this year and featured demonstrations in obedience, rally and flyball hosted by the Greater Panama City Dog Fanciers Association.
"So many organizations come together every year to make this event possible," said Niki Tudge, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Bay County. "It certainly wouldn't be possible without the generosity of the Bay Point Marina and Coastal Marine Management and the generous sponsorships provided by Pineapple Willy's, SunTrust Bank, Katmandu, Granite Plus and the many local businesses that donate their services, time and products to ensure the event is a success each year.”
Tudge specifically acknowledges donations by Knology (stage), Eric Buskell of Pineapple Willy's (sound equipment and entertainment), Velda Whigham of Katmandu (bar services), and Blake Woodham of Wooham Rentals (tables and chairs).
"We are also very grateful to all of the media that is provided every year to promote this event." Tudge said, " The Newsherald, The Bay Point News, The Bay Bullet, Magic Broadcasting, Bill Hudson Productions, WMBB, and WJHG, have all donated their services to help us and we are immensely grateful.”
Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to enjoy the wonderful fall weather with your four-legged family members.
