Calendar Friends Launch Party - May 28th - 6pm to 9pm - posted April 28, 2013

It's that time again. The Humane Society Calendar Friends' fundraiser is starting on June 3rd and we're having a party to celebrate the launch. This year's party will be held on Tuesday May 28th from 6pm to 9pm at Tito's Downtown Cafe & Bakery (located in Historic Downtown Panama City). 5K fundraiser for Humane Society nets large turnout - posted April 15, 2013

PANAMA CITY, FLA. - The Humane Society of Bay County held it’s 3rd Annual Furry Friend 5K fundraiser on Saturday April 13. The event was a huge success with more than 160 runners registered and raised close to $5,000. This year’s event was held in Lynn Haven at A.L. Kinsaul Park. Runners got to race through the neighborhoods surrounding the park and crossed the finish line overlooking North Bay. More than thirty-nine awards (see full list below) were given out at the event with more than 16 different categories. The Top 3 runners overall were Chris Hauser (24, Male) who came in 1st place, Kawn Waters (41, Male) who finished in second place and Mei-Shen Edwards (31, Female) who placed third. Chris Hauser’s overall time was an outstanding 18:58:07 which ranks as being the second best time in the history of the event...CLICK FOR MORE    Click here for more...

A huge effort was recently made by more than 17 volunteers from BookIt.com to help organize and sort donated items at the Humane Society Thrift and Gift store. Chicken Wing Championship Winners Announced - posted March 17, 2013

PANAMA CITY, FLA. - Celebrating the amazing tastes and spices of local chicken wing vendors, The Humane Society of Bay County announced today the six winners of their 2nd Annual Aaron Rich Invitational Chicken Wing Championship fundraiser. Juan Benavidez of Knology took home two trophies for winning 1st place in both the Free-For-All and Buffalo Style categories. Patches Pub took home the trophy for People’s Champ in the Free-For-All category. Lime’s Bayside Bar and Grill took home the trophy for People’s Champ in the Buffalo category. The runners-up were Outlaw’s BBQ who won 2nd Place in the Buffalo Style category and Patches Pub who won 2nd Place in the Free-For-All category.    Click here for more...




The 3rd Annual Furry Friend 5K will be held on April 13th - posted February 19, 2013

The Humane Society of Bay County’s Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers are gearing up for the third annual Furry Friend 5K. It will be held on Saturday April 13, 2013 at A.L. Kinsaul Park (Lynn Haven, FL) and will start at 7 a.m. (CST) (registration from 6:00 to 6:45 a.m.). HSBC has designated Sunday, April 14, 2013 as a rain date in the event of inclement weather on Saturday. Max’s future did not look bright. He was a pit bull, feared more than loved by most. He had a history of heartworms. He was full of life and energy, but that just seemed to mean a lot of work for the people in his life. He was eventually rejected by his people and sent to live in the noisy confusion of the animal shelter. Shelter life did not suit him. Humane Society of Bay County Has Relocted!!! - posted March 24, 2011

The Humane Society of Bay County will be relocating its current shelter and thrift store operations at 1048 West 23rd Street, Panama City to two separate locations. May 1, 2011, is the official move date on both locations. The location for the animals is the former Cedar Grove Animal Hospital at 2620 E. 15th Street across the road from Coin and Bullion Reserve. The vet facility is better suited to accommodate the needs of the animals and it will allow the HSBC to take in approximately 70 animals, double the capacity at the present location on 23rd Street.    Click here for more...
